Job summary

Summitbsa in Glen Jean, WV seeks an energetic skateboarding instructor and supervisor to guide participants of varying abilities, helping them improve skills while building leadership, character, and fitness.

You will lead a cheerful, safety‑focused program, assist in set up and takedown, and follow Summit staff policies. Housing and a Summit Staff Uniform are provided, with 45–55 hour work weeks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Experience teaching or riding skateboarding.
• Experience maintaining skateboards or skateparks.
• Willing to become a registered Scouts America member (background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work communication.

Responsibilities

• Present a skateboarding program with cheerful, helpful service.
• Demonstrate wheel-sport skills to teach novices in BMX/skate.
• Assist in set up and takedown of BMX/skate facilities.
• Ensure the safety of all riders in skateboard/BMX activities.
• Turn paperwork into supervisor accurately and timely.
• Maintain Skate/BMX equipment and facilities.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership.
• Abide by policies and procedures in the SBR staff handbook.
