Qualifications

Develop, organize, and promote aquatic programs. Oversee swim lesson scheduling, marketing, outreach, inventory, purchasing, and facility maintenance. Provide swim instruction, staff training, and support for special events and recruitment, ensuring compliance with training and certification standards.

1. Develop, organize, and promote aquatic programs
2. Schedule and oversee swim lessons across all facilities
3. Manage marketing, outreach, and communication for aquatic programs
4. Coordinate partnerships with schools, parks, and recreation departments
5. Maintain inventory, purchasing, and facility upkeep for aquatics and housekeeping
6. Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of aquatic spaces
7. Provide swim instruction and aquatics education
8. Train staff in swim lesson instruction
9. Recruit, train, and evaluate employees to maintain performance standards
10. Ensure staff compliance with training and certification requirements, including CPR
11. Collaborate with Planning, Design, and Construction teams on facility improvements
12. Schedule and oversee housekeeping staff

Required certifications include Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. North Carolina Certified Pool Operator certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification is preferred. Candidates should have at least two years of successful experience in a fitness environment. An associate or bachelor’s degree in fitness, business, or recreation is preferred.

The ideal applicant will have experience in program development for aquatics, fitness, or recreation. Strong organizational skills, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, and the ability to direct staff are essential.
