Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure safe swimming conditions at the McCleskey East Cobb YMCA. Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, you will monitor the pool, enforce safety policies, and promote a welcoming, respectful environment for all members.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 or older.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard certification or equivalent.
• CPR/AED, First Aid and oxygen administration certifications required.
• Ability to respond promptly to safety and emergency situations.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and hospitality commitment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Responds immediately to emergencies according to YMCA procedures.
• Applies pool safety rules and health regulations.
• Maintains records and completes required reports.
• Performs equipment checks and ensures necessary gear is available.
• Performs chemical testing and takes appropriate action.
• Maintains certifications and training as required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
• Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Reports 15 minutes before shift and wears YMCA lifeguard uniform.
