Job summary

The City of Lynnwood’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department seeks a seasoned aquatics supervisor to oversee lifeguards, instructors and daily pool operations. The role requires hands-on leadership, emergency readiness and the ability to train staff while ensuring a high level of patron safety.

Work involves coordinating programs, assisting in hiring, maintaining records, and delivering quality swim instruction to all ages, with shifts including mornings/evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Must hold ARC Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Two years of continuous aquatic experience.
• Strong customer service and public relations skills.
• Willing to work variable hours including evenings/weekends.
• Ability to supervise staff and conduct trainings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifeguards and instructors; supervise aquatic staff.
• Plan and implement quality aquatic programs and events.
• Assist in staff hiring, training, and evaluations.
• Maintain safety procedures and emergency readiness.
• Prepare reports and manage registration during shifts.
