Job summary

YMCA of Greater San Francisco seeks an Aquatics Lead to oversee safety, program quality, and staff development in a busy aquatics setting. You will supervise lifeguards and swim instructors, mentor teams, and ensure a high standard of customer service and safety on deck.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff trainings, maintaining pool operations, and teaching or lifeguarding as needed. This hourly, full-time position requires flexibility and a strong commitment to youth development and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
1+ year experience as swim instructor and/or lifeguard.
1+ year experience supervising and leading teams.
Availability mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends.
Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel and Google Drive.
Current CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration and Lifeguard certifications (Red Cross and YMCA).

Responsibilities

Recruit and onboard lifeguards and swim instructors under the Aquatics Director.
Track staff certifications and arrange training as needed.
Resolve scheduling conflicts and provide coverage as necessary.
Provide regular coaching and feedback to staff to improve performance.
Lead safety and training sessions for staff and assist with annual courses.
