Job summary

The Alexandria Area YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director to join our leadership team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the aquatics department. This role manages staff, programming, safety, and facility operations, delivering a safe and welcoming experience for members and participants.

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in aquatics, a strong focus on safety, staff development, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

Experience leading aquatic programs and supervising staff.
Commitment to safety and quality in aquatics operations.
Ability to manage budget and scheduling.

Responsibilities

Lead, implement, and manage high-quality aquatic programs.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise aquatics staff; ensure certifications are current.
Assist in development and management of department budget.
Complete safety documentation and participate in Safety Committee.
Conduct internal safety trainings for lifeguards and swim instructors.
Maintain program statistics and evaluate participation and outcomes.
Schedule pool facilities and coordinate with other departments.
Promote programs and support fundraising and special events.
