Job summary

Greater Austin YMCA is seeking an experienced Aquatics Director to lead all aquatics operations, safeguarding members while delivering high‑quality programs. You will supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and front‑line staff, drive safety culture, and ensure exceptional member experiences.

The role emphasizes people development, program expansion, and collaboration with the Impact Team to advance the YMCA mission. Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of leadership in aquatics are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2-3 years of leadership experience in aquatics, recreation, or youth development.
• Experience supervising and developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aquatics operations at the center, including programming, safety, staffing, and member satisfaction.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor aquatics staff; foster culture of safety and service.
• Drive program development, community engagement, and fundraising support as needed.
• Represent the aquatics department on leadership teams and support strategic planning.
