Job summary

YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester is seeking an Aquatic Director to lead the aquatics department, directing programs, staff, and safety initiatives. The role focuses on delivering high-quality learn-to-swim, water fitness, and community programs while ensuring financial performance and regulatory compliance.

The Director will balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, maintaining strong community engagement and partnerships to meet participation and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of aquatics management experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience with learn-to-swim programming (American Red Cross or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all aquatic programs and services.
• Ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise aquatic staff.
• Develop and manage annual aquatic department budget and revenue streams.
• Build partnerships with schools and community organizations to boost engagement and membership.
