Job summary

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center in Milwaukee is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to join our Aquatics Leadership Team. This hybrid role blends hands-on deck work with program management, spending 30–35 hours per week on lifeguarding, top-tier swim instruction, and coaching, while leading the Private Swim program and supporting families.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of swim instruction or lifeguarding experience, current lifeguarding certs, and strong

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of swim instruction and/or lifeguarding experience.
• Certifications: Current Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Preferred: LGI and WSI certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent mix of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a Safe Pool Deck (Lifeguarding): actively perform lifeguarding duties and enforce rules and safety standards.
• Lead the Private Swim Program: manage family communication, scheduling, lesson packages, and instructor pairing.
• Direct Service & Coaching: provide swim instruction (group and private), coaching, and teach American Red Cross courses.
• Support, Mentor & Train Staff: assist onboarding and lead staff trainings.
• Keep Operations Flowing: use Traction Rec to manage enrollments, transfers, and refunds; maintain rosters and data.
