Job summary

City of San Diego is seeking a Swimming Pool Manager I to lead aquatic programs and supervise staff across multiple pool sites. The role includes teaching and maintaining pools, coordinating schedules, and promoting programs within the community.

The candidate will oversee staff, ensure safety, and coordinate training and performance tests while supporting special events and ongoing maintenance across facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Six months of full-time experience as a Swimming Instructor, Assistant Manager or Manager of a swimming pool with organized aquatic instruction.
• All listed ARC certificates must be valid and current.

Responsibilities

• Lead, evaluate and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Administer and teach swimming classes; perform pool maintenance.
• Publicize and market aquatic programs; plan events and fund-raising activities.
• Coordinate staffing and provide staff training; ensure safety procedures are followed.
