Job summary

The City of San Diego seeks a Swimming Pool Manager III to lead and supervise staff and volunteers, teach swimming classes, and manage pool operations and maintenance. This position also carries responsibilities for safety, documentation, and public information about aquatic programs.

Candidates must have one year of relevant experience as a pool manager, hold all listed Red Cross certificates, and be prepared to work summers.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience as an Assistant Manager or Manager of a swimming pool which provides an organized aquatic instruction program.
• All of the following certificates must be valid: Lifeguarding/First Aid, Emergency Medical Response, Water Safety Instructor, CPR/AED for Lifeguards or equivalent.
• Certificates must be current and valid; enrollment letters are not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, evaluate and supervise the work of subordinates and volunteers.
• Administer and teach swimming classes and perform pool maintenance.
• Administer first aid and CPR as needed; keep records and write reports.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid Certificate

American Red Cross Emergency Medical Response Certificate

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certificate

American Red Cross CPR/AED for Lifeguard or Professional Rescuer/AED Essentials
