Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking a Swimming Pool Manager I to lead and supervise staff, teach swimming classes, perform pool maintenance, and administer CPR/First Aid as needed. You will keep records, write reports, and promote aquatic programs to the public.

Pertaing to licensure, you must hold mandatory American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid, Emergency Medical Response, WSI, and CPR/AED Lifeguard certificates, with a pass/fail performance test prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time pool supervision experience with organized aquatic instruction.
• Must pass a performance test and maintain valid certificates throughout employment.
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and evenings, and June–August schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead, evaluate and supervise staff and volunteers at the pool.
• Teach swimming classes and administer first aid/CPR as needed.
• Maintain records, write reports and publicize aquatic programs.
• Coordinate staffing, plan events, and conduct staff training.
• Provide information on pool regulations and procedures.
