The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an energetic group fitness instructor to lead engaging, safe classes and promote healthy living. You will build strong member connections, stay current on wellness trends, and maintain attendance records while upholding YMCA policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include delivering energizing classes, following emergency procedures, and collaborating with staff to support member wellness and community engagement within the YMCA environment.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required.
• National group fitness certification or YMCA Foundations certification is required.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.
• Water fitness certifications (including YMCA/AEA/USWFA) preferred.
• In-service training: minimum 2 hours per year with aquatics department.

Responsabilités

• Leads group classes as directed to achieve YMCA mission and goals.
• Delivers energizing, safe and educational classes.
• Fosters relationships with members and promotes YMCA engagement.
• Maintains wellness knowledge to provide accurate information and support.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies; responds to emergencies.
• Reports suspicious behavior and policy violations.
• Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
• Meets timelines related to time sheets in Kronos Workforce Ready.
