Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Group Fitness Instructor to lead safe, engaging classes that promote health and community. You will create an inclusive environment and motivate members of all fitness levels to achieve their goals.

The role requires delivering a variety of classes, updating routines, and adhering to wellness guidelines while modeling YMCA values and fostering belonging.

Qualifications

• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Must have current national Group Exercise certification (YMCA, AFAA, ACE, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Cycle, Reebok, etc) or be trained within 30 days of hire.
• Candidates must pass group exercise interview and audition.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging group exercise classes for YMCA members.
• Maintain proper technique, motivation, and member connection in line with YMCA values.
• Update choreography and music selections to keep classes fresh and dynamic.
• Uphold YMCA guidelines and promote healthy living among participants.
