Job summary

The City of Baltimore, Department of Planning, seeks an Aquatic Center Leader to plan, promote, oversee and conduct community aquatic programs. You will lead part-time staff under moderate supervision while ensuring safety, engaging the public, and adapting activities to community needs.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff schedules, maintaining records, and upholding high standards of customer service and safety in all aquatic activities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3 years in aquatics recreational activities including teaching swimming lessons.
• Equivalency notes: equivalent education/experience acceptable.
• Certifications: Lifeguard, Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, oversee and conduct aquatic programs at a community center.
• Lead part-time pool staff under moderate supervision.
• Schedule work weeks, evenings and weekends as needed.
• Maintain records and ensure safety and customer service standards.
