Job summary

Baltimore City is seeking an Aquatic Center Leader to plan, promote, oversee and conduct community aquatic programs. This role guides part-time pool staff and reports to a technical supervisor, with evening and weekend hours typical.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years in aquatics (including teaching swimming), and holding Red Cross lifeguard and pool operator credentials, with Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor credentials to be obtained within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of experience in aquatics recreational activities including teaching swimming lessons.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must hold and maintain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate and Certified Pool Operator; Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor certificates must be obtained within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, oversee and conduct aquatic programs at a community aquatic center.
• Lead part-time pool staff; not full supervisory duties.
