Job summary

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Aging and Adult Services, seeks an APS Supervisor to lead a unit of Adult Protective Services professionals and support staff, ensuring compliance with federal and state statutes, rules, and APS policies. The role directs case actions, manages leave and expenditures, and may serve as acting Program Manager as required.

In-state travel is required. A bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and 2+ years of professional case management

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state statutes, DES/DAAS regulations, policies and procedures related to reporting of vulnerable adult maltreatment.
• Experience with case management and social work practices.
• Ability to manage staff assignments and workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and direct supervision of subordinate staff.
• Evaluate workflow and formulate process improvement plans.
• Provide technical advice to staff and ensure compliance with laws and APS policies.
• Respond to case participants, DES administration, and the public with appropriate action on complaints.
• Prepare reports and communicate policies to management.
• Flexibility to work longer shifts or after-hours when needed.
