Job summary

Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) seeks an experienced APS Supervisor in Chandler to lead the Adult Protective Services team, ensuring compliant evaluation of abuse reports and protective services. In-state travel and after-hours coverage may be required.

The role directs a unit of APS professionals, coordinates with partners, and oversees staff performance, scheduling, and expenditures while acting as Program Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or closely related field with 2 years of professional case management/investigation experience; or equivalent
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating case work
• Knowledge of federal and state statutes, policies and reporting requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision of APS staff.
• Evaluate workflow and implement process improvements.
• Provide technical advice to staff and ensure compliance with policies.
• Respond to participants and public, address concerns and escalate as needed.
• Prepare reports and communicate with management.
