Job summary

Marshall University in Charleston, WV seeks an Apprenticeship Specialist to support clients in obtaining training, certifications, apprenticeships, and degrees aligned with their career goals.

You will join the MAMC Workforce Development Team, report to the Apprenticeship Unit Director, and travel to partner sites to plan, implement, and tailor in-demand programs.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex multifaceted projects.

Responsibilities

• Support program clients in obtaining training, industry-recognized certifications, apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship opportunities, and academic degrees.
• Plan, customize, and implement skills programs, apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeships for individuals, schools, and businesses.
• Work as part of the MAMC Workforce Development Team under the Apprenticeship Unit Director.
• Occasionally travel; primarily work out of South Charleston facilities.

Job description

The Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center ( MAMC ), formerly called RCBI , is accepting resumes for an Apprenticeship Specialist.

Duties

The MAMC Apprenticeship Specialist is responsible for supporting program clients in obtaining training, industry-recognized certifications, apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship opportunities, and academic degrees that best align with their career goals.

The position is part of MAMC’s Workforce Development Team and reports directly to the Apprenticeship Unit Director. The position will work primarily out of our South Charleston facilities with some travel required.

As part of the MAMC Workforce Development Team, the team member will work closely with the team to plan, customize, and implement skills programs, apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeships for individuals, schools, and businesses for in-demand training opportunities.

Salary Range

Salary Range $60.000 - $70,000 - salary is commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience

• Success and experience working in a high-performance, collaborative peer group environment; possess strong program management skills and the ability to manage complex, multifaceted projects is required.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written skills as well as the ability to cultivate new and existing relationships.
• Candidate is required to be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and use of audiovisual equipment.
• Candidates must have the ability to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Experience

Past experience with apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship programs.

Past experience in high school vocational programs or industrial training schools or colleges.

Independent, results-focused, highly organized self-starter with supervisory skills is preferred.

Experience with federal grants, Salesforce, or database systems is a plus.

Demonstrated effectiveness as a leader, 3 years of experience in a team management role is preferred.

Sophisticated personal networking and relationship building skills are preferred.
