Job summary

Entergy Louisiana, LLC is seeking an Apprentice 1st Step - Journeyman Serviceman in Baton Rouge, onsite. Responsibilities include complex transmission work on dead or energized lines, distribution conductors, and guidance of helpers through journeyman level. CDL and safety compliance are required.

Position requires knowledge of transformers, hot line tools, and reading wiring diagrams, with extensive field duties and potential travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Know Company's safety rules and basic first aid competencies.
• Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Thorough knowledge of electric transmission and distribution circuits.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and blueprints for transmission work.
• Experience as Helper through Journeyman Lineman or equivalent.
• Capable of planning and laying out work safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Make transformer installations; perform phasing and rotation checks.
• Do all classes of hot line tool work and trace grounds in circuits.
• Reeve blocks and plan layouts for safe, efficient work.
• Check, handle and report material from stock; prepare records.
• Act as supervisor when authorized and direct assistants.
• Instruct and train new employees.
