Job summary

Fields Auto Group in the Chicago area is hiring an entry-level automotive technician. You will learn from the best with guaranteed OEM training and ongoing development.

No dealership experience is required; technical schooling is needed. We offer competitive wages starting at $25.00 per hour, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth within a family-owned operation.

Qualifications

Technical schooling required.
Dealership experience is a benefit, but not required.
ASE certification encouraged but not required.
Must have clean & valid driver's license.
Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
Ready to work hard with a positive attitude.
Interest in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership procedures.
Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems; learn to use diagnostic tools and service equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
Communicate with the Service Advisor if additional service is needed and provide time estimates.
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems. You will learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
