Job summary

Fields Auto Group in the Chicago land area is seeking an entry-level automotive technician to learn in a fast-paced, family-owned dealership. You will work with a skilled team, gain hands-on experience, and participate in OEM training.

Opportunities include diagnosing and repairing vehicles, using diagnostic tools, and advancing toward ASE certifications with a structured pay and benefits package starting at $25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Technical schooling is required.
• ASE certification encouraged but not required.
• Clean and valid driver's license required.
• Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
• Interest in the automotive industry and ability to work in a team.
• Dealership experience is a benefit, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work per the repair order with efficiency and adherence to dealership procedures.
• Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, brakes.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needed work and time estimates.
• Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
• Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems. You will learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Dealership experience is a benefit, but not required
• Technical Schooling required
• ASE Certification is encouraged but not required
