Fields Auto Group is seeking an entry-level automotive technician for its Chicago-area service department. You will learn from experienced colleagues, perform repairs, and gain hands-on experience with modern diagnostic tools and equipment.

Qualifications

Dealership environment experience is not required but helpful.
Technical schooling is required.
ASE certification encouraged but not required.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Interest in automotive industry and teamwork is essential.
Willingness to pass drug screen and background check.
Must have clean and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform repair work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and adherence to dealership procedures.
Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
Communicate with Service Advisor about needed additional work and provide time estimates.
Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems. You will learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
