Job summary

Fields Auto Group is hiring an entry-level automotive technician for the Chicago area service department. You will learn from experienced technicians while performing repairs per the repair order and dealership procedures.

The role emphasizes teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to undergo drug screening and background checks. On-site shop with ongoing OEM training and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Dealership experience is a benefit, but not required.

• Willingness to submit to a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work on vehicles per the repair order and procedures.
• Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, electrical, transmission, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional work and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
• Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems. You will learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Dealership experience is a benefit, but not required
• Technical Schooling required
• ASE Certification is encouraged but not required
• Ready to work hard with a positive attitude
• Interested in the automotive industry
• Strong teamwork skills
• Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
• Must have clean & valid driver's license
