Job summary

Fields Auto Group is seeking an entry-level automotive technician to join a top Chicago-area dealership network. You will receive comprehensive OEM training, work with updated tools, and have opportunities for advancement in a family-owned, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities include performing repairs, testing components, and collaborating with Service Advisors. A technical school background and a valid driver’s license are required; ASE is encouraged.

Qualifications

Technical Schooling is required.
ASE certification is encouraged but not required.
Dealership experience is a benefit but not required.
Must have a clean and valid driver's license.
Must be willing to submit to a drug screen & background check.

Responsibilities

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership procedures.
Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems; learn to use diagnostic tools.
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional services and time estimates.
Execute repairs under manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems. You will learn how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
