Job summary

LensCrafters in Hickory, NC seeks an Apprentice Optician to deliver the LensCrafters Experience from greeting to checkout. You’ll help customers select frames and lenses, take measurements, fit eyewear, and ensure accurate dispensing while explaining guarantees and One Hour delivery timelines.

You’ll work in a team, learn optical theory and merchandise knowledge, use the POS system, and maintain store visuals. A sanctioned Apprentice Program and high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program.
• Strong customer service: communicator, listener and team builder.
• Knowledge of optical theory and merchandise.
• Knowledge of current store merchandise.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Awareness of current fashion trends.
• Sales and service skills.
• Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators.
• Embrace new technology and change.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the LensCrafters Experience to customers throughout the selling process.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses by considering vision, lifestyle and budget.
• Takes measurements, fits eyewear, and ensures accuracy in dispensing.
• Explain guarantees, services and One Hour processing to customers.
• Operate POS and handle payments following security procedures.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure planograms are followed.
• Contribute to CEI/Functional Skills targets and teamwork.
