Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician I in Vacaville, CA. The role centers on setting up, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment while supporting routine maintenance tasks and tool changes.

You will log activities in the maintenance software, monitor parts usage, and assist in spares management; some training may occur, including out-of-state sessions. Competitive hourly pay with benefits and potential shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in related field desired.
• 0–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge in mechanical repairs and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Willing to attend training sessions, including out of state locations.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles (voltage, current, resistance).
• Familiar with electrical measurement devices (voltage meters, micrometers).
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems.
• Ability to use Windows-based software programs.
• Ability to express verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of simple troubleshooting.
• Prefer some basic metal fabrication and welding experience.
• Knowledge of Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures.
• Flexible for various maintenance shifts.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance calls and complete simple repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment in a timely manner and call for support on complex problems.
• Support equipment recipe changes and control adjustments.
• Understand and maintain basic drive train and power train components.
• Perform mechanical preventative maintenance tasks per instructions.
• Start up and shut down equipment per established procedures.
• Enter all work completed in the maintenance program.
• Monitor and report spare parts usage and order parts as needed.
