Job summary

United Cooperative Services has an open position for an Apprentice Lineman I for our Mansfield Operations Department. The position is an entry-level role that trains on maintaining and constructing distribution lines, while assisting line crews and upholding safety standards.

The candidate must have a valid Class A CDL with an acceptable MVR and complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen. This non-exempt role offers progressive pay and an outstanding benefits package, with duties

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent and one to three months related experience and/or training.
Must acquire within a reasonable time span knowledge of safety rules and procedures pertaining to job assignments.
Must possess or obtain a Texas commercial driver's license (Class A) with acceptable MVR.
Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

Sets anchors, sets, aligns and frames poles according to REA qualifications as directed.
Attends lineman on pole at all times.
Loads and unloads poles, transformers and other items.
Checks material in and out of the warehouse.
Assists in building line and facilities, as directed and accounts for material used.
