Job summary

United Cooperative Services in Mansfield, TX seeks an Apprentice Lineman I for the Mansfield Operations Department. The trainee assists line crews in construction, maintenance and operation of overhead and underground lines, and must hold a valid Class A CDL with acceptable MVR.

A pre-employment physical and drug screen are required. This non-exempt role starts at $27.63 per hour with progressive pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Must possess a valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class A) with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Sets anchors, sets, aligns and frames poles according to REA qualifications.
• Attends lineman on pole at all times.
• Helps load and unload poles, transformers and other items.
• Helps check material in and out of the warehouse.
• Assists in building line and facilities and returns material to the warehouse.
• Trims with pruning sticks and cuts trees as required.
• Keeps tools and materials organized and reports repairs needed.
• Performs work to connect service to meter and reads meters when required.
• Observes hazards and follows safety policies and procedures.
• Groundman duties and active training involved.
