Job summary

Chain Electric Company in Richland, MS is seeking an Apprentice Lineman B to perform skilled tasks in construction, repair and maintenance of electrical distribution systems. This semi-skilled role requires climbing poles, operating bucket trucks, lifting 50 lbs, and possessing a CDL-B license.

Candidates must live within one hour of Richland and be available for travel on short notice, with irregular hours. Safety training and readiness to work in a demanding outdoor environment are essential.

Qualifications

Minimum 2.5 years' experience in groundman and lineman work; lineman training qualifies.
Willingness to travel at a moment's notice, anytime.
Able to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
Must possess a valid CDL-B license.
Must live within one hour drive of Richland, MS.
Must not have an intrastate CDL restriction (K).
Must possess own tools.
Physically capable of demanding construction duties in harsh weather.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Color vision and distance perception required.

Responsibilities

Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment and work at heights.
Safely construct, maintain, and repair overhead/underground distribution systems and substations.
Verify proper grounding of equipment and systems.
Control traffic around work zones and keep unauthorized people away.
Identify defective devices using diagrams and testing instruments.
Splice or lay cables and conductors; splice using hand tools and soldering.
Dig holes and set poles with cranes and power equipment.
Transport tools and materials to job sites; drive work vehicles.
