Job summary

Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation in Ashe, North Carolina, is seeking an Apprentice Line Technician III or higher to join our team. You’ll perform hands-on construction, maintenance, and repair of the electric distribution and transmission system, learn to install equipment, operate line trucks,

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Line Technology preferred for advancement.
• Minimum three years of cumulative line work experience for Apprentice III (more for higher).
• Valid CDL, safe driving record, and ability to pass DOT physical and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work on secondary and primary voltages on energized lines under supervision.
• Learn to install transformers, reclosers, capacitors, and voltage regulators.
• Operate and maintain aerial bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other line equipment.
• Assist in substation and underground distribution system work.
• Read system maps, specifications, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes.
• Practice strict safety standards in every task.
• Support outage restoration efforts in all weather conditions, day or night.
