Job summary

Blue Ridge Energy is seeking an Apprentice Line Technician III or higher in Ashe, North Carolina for our structured training and progression program. You will work on the construction, maintenance, and repair of our electric distribution and transmission system.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, CDL, and a strong safety mindset. This full-time role requires outdoor work, outage response, and a commitment to teamwork as you advance through the apprentice levels I–A.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Line Technology preferred for advancement.
• Experience or willingness to learn line construction, maintenance, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work on energized lines with supervision.
• Learn to install transformers, reclosers, capacitors, and voltage regulators.
• Operate and maintain aerial bucket trucks, digger derricks, and line equipment.
• Assist in substation and underground distribution work.
• Study maps, specifications, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes.
• Uphold strict safety standards in every task and participate in outage restoration.
