Job summary

Hulcher Services is seeking an Apprentice Operator I to support derailed rail operations with transport, operation, and servicing of heavy equipment. You will lift and move derailed cars and locomotives, drive support vehicles, and participate in maintenance and setup tasks using cutting tools and welding.

The role requires CDL Class A, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel up to 50%. You will serve in an on-call emergency response environment and participate in a strong union

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with NO restrictions.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel up to 50%.
• Willing to work on-call 24/7 in an emergency response environment.
• Ability to conduct maintenance inspections on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer or escort vehicles.
• Material handling of heavy chains, blocks, cables, and other devices.
• Climb and crawl on and under derailed railroad cars.
• Maintenance, cleaning and setup of equipment including cutting torch and welding.
• Digging, hammering, and other physical tasks with various tools.
• Lifting 100 lbs max and up to 50 lbs frequently; work at heights over 25 feet.
