Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking candidates for the Facility Operations apprentice role within CPF. The position focuses on maintaining and repairing elevators and related equipment, while supporting the apprenticeship program under journey-level supervision.

Roles include hands-on work, safety compliance, and completing classroom training. Selected apprentices will engage in a 4-year program with on-the-job training and scheduled coursework, with classroom hours paid by IU and sessions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HSED).
• Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license and be insured by IU.
• May need to obtain QEI license and OSHA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair elevators, escalators, chairlifts, conveyors, and machine rooms/pits.
• Inspect wiring, control panel hookups, door alignment, and car hoistway clearance.
• Read schematics, troubleshoot and report inspection results.
• Order parts through supervisor and perform replacements as needed.
• Drive vehicle as part of duties.
• Support apprenticeship training and complete coursework.
