Job summary

DP Electric in Texas is hiring an Apprentice Electrician. On active commercial and industrial sites, you will assist journeymen, learn through a four-level progression, and potentially pursue DP University for formal training.

Safety and quality workmanship remain central as you gain independence across a structured development path. The role operates on Texas job sites with a strong focus on hands-on skills, with mentorship from experienced electricians and foremen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Texas Apprentice Electrician license (registration with TDLR), active and in good standing; renewal required.
• Enrollment in, or willingness to join, a certified electrical apprenticeship program.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Prior commercial electrical experience is required for Apprentice II–IV; Apprentice I is entry-level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and other components.
• Bend and install conduit, including EMT, rigid, and PVC.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams under the guidance of a journeyman or foreman.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and help identify effective solutions.
• Follow industry standards and safety regulations, and conduct inspections to keep installations compliant.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety protocols at all times.
• Coordinate with other trades and contractors on the jobsite to keep projects on schedule.
• Participate in training and mentorship to build your knowledge and skills in the trade.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, tools used, and materials handled.
• Adhere to company tool policies and take responsibility for investing in and maintaining your trade tools.
