Position: Apprentice Diesel Mechanic/Technician

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Interstate Power Systems is seeking Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU, and more. We offer highly competitive wages!

Pay Range: $25.00-$28.00/hour D.O.E.

Job Duties:
  • Repair and maintain diesel engines and components used in vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose complex diesel engine issues accurately and efficiently, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding repairs.
  • Ensure quality work to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Keep and submit accurate paperwork upon job completion.
  • Meet certification requirements.
  • Possess a valid driver's license; CDL holders are bonus-eligible.
  • Demonstrate a good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability.
  • Have a strong understanding of Detroit Diesel engines, especially the current GHG17 product.
  • Experience with other diesel platforms like Cummins, CAT, and International is a plus.
  • Additional mechanical skills such as hydraulics, brakes, suspension, transmissions, and drive train are desirable but not essential.
