Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operations of roofing crews on tile, slate, and restoration projects.
• Manage installation, repair, and restoration of slate, clay tile, and high-end historic roofing systems.
• Interpret project documents and execute work plans accurately.
• Install underlayments, flashings (copper, lead, etc.), ventilation systems, and roof accessories.
• Ensure jobsite safety compliance and perform daily safety checks.
• Conduct in-process and final quality control inspections.
• Train and mentor crew members to promote skill growth and discipline.
• Coordinate delivery and proper use of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, inspectors, and team members.

Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of hands-on roofing experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Expert-level skill in installing Vermont slate, Ludowici tile, or equivalent systems.
• Deep understanding of historic preservation techniques and standards.
• Ability to layout complex roof systems and read blueprints with precision.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build high-performance teams.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and reliable transportation.
• Physically capable of lifting 75+ lbs and working at heights.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience working on historic landmarks or luxury residential properties.
