Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures, including product information by category, special orders, cake programs, portion control, seasonal items, and color mixing.
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, helping locate products, and answering questions with suggestions.
• Familiarize with store products to assist customers effectively.
• Handle products and equipment safely, adhering to food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Prepare and decorate bakery products, rotate stock, and ensure freshness and proper dating.
• Offer sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Keep equipment, work surfaces, and the environment clean and sanitized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the department, including backroom, coolers, and freezers.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures, including proper lifting and housekeeping.
• Assist with unloading deliveries to maintain backroom efficiency.
• Follow department procedures, including setup, order taking, and product rotation.
• Support other areas of the bakery as needed.
