Job summary

ISS Facility Services - North America in New York is seeking an Apprentice Building Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and controls to ensure optimal conditions. You will provide O&M for building systems and support other facilities as directed.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of related technical experience, plus experience in O&M or building engineering, Work Order Control, and subcontractor management.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years related technical experience and/or training.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in O&M and/or building engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and vendor contracts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to issues to ensure reliability.
• Manage equipment, parts inventory, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for maintenance projects.
• Use MS Office and written procedures to document work and reporting.
