Job summary

TradeWind Services is seeking an Applied Mechanics Engineer to perform linear and nonlinear, static and dynamic analysis for an advanced nuclear reactor project. The role focuses on seismic and thermomechanical analyses, code compliance, and documentation of results.

The candidate will model complex systems, support design decisions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while traveling to client facilities as required. U.S. citizenship is required for DOE Q clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in mechanical engineering with required experience.
• US citizenship required.
• Willing to travel to client facility; remote work allowed.
• Expertise in ASME, ASCE codes and DOE requirements for safety class systems.
• Experience with thermomechanical analysis for reactor internals.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based mathematical models of mechanical, chemical, or electrical systems to support and verify design.
• Provide support to design teams in alternatives analysis, equipment sizing and evaluations.
• Perform structural mechanics analyses of structures, systems and components under normal and hazard conditions.
• Support Safety Analysis through simulations of postulated accidents and their consequences.
• Document designs and analyses to meet design requirements and codes; maintain controlled models and drawings.
• Lead and author professional technical reports and presentations.
