Job summary

Omega Technical Services is seeking an experienced Applied Mechanics Engineer to support the design and analysis of a novel advanced nuclear reactor. This role applies modeling and simulation to evaluate structural and mechanical systems.

The candidate will perform linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analyses, including seismic evaluations per ASCE 7 and ASME BPVC, and develop physics-based models for safety-critical assessments.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 6+ years.
• Advanced knowledge of structural dynamics and seismic analysis.
• Experience with linear and nonlinear seismic soil-structure interaction analysis.
• Experience performing site-response analyses.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on novel reactor design.
• Perform thermomechanical analyses of reactor internals and materials.
• Conduct seismic evaluations per ASCE 7 and ASME BPVC.
• Develop physics-based models to support engineering designs.
• Document analyses and verify compliance with codes and standards.
