Job summary

SimVentions seeks an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist for its on-site NSWC Dahlgren role. You will develop and execute automated and manual tests, tie test cases to requirements, and collaborate with developers and government customers to resolve defects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, familiarity with C++ and Linux, and strong communication skills. US citizenship and on-site work at Dahlgren required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or education.
• Familiarity with reviewing C++ code and Linux systems.
• Ability to trace requirements to tests and document artifacts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write test plans, descriptions, and cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing across levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
• Identify and track software defects; collaborate with developers for fixes.
• Review peers' test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprints and CCB activities.
• Interface professionally with government customers daily.
