Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the SLBM team at NSWC Dahlgren Division. The role requires 2+ years in applied math/physics and 1+ years in software testing, with Linux, C++, and DOORS/Jira experience. U.S. citizenship and on-site work are required.

Design and execute automated and manual tests, link requirements to tests, and collaborate with government customers daily. Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $98,000 with benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or physics experience
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code
• Experience using Linux systems
• Strong requirements traceability skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing across static, dynamic, integration, and system levels
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and related tools
• Identify, document, and track software defects with developers
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities
• Interface professionally with government customers daily
• Occasionally present testing documentation to stakeholders
