Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the SLBM team at NSWCDD Dahlgren, VA. This full-time, on-site role requires U.S. citizenship and on-base presence five days a week.

You will design test plans, develop automated and manual tests, and work closely with government customers and developers to resolve defects while maintaining rigorous requirements traceability and clear communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied math/physics experience in engineering projects.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Strong requirements traceability and defect resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.
• Team player with ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans and cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing at various levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects with rapid resolution.
• Review peers' test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprints and CCB activities.
• Interface with government customers daily and present testing docs.
