Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the SLBM testing team at NSWCDD Dahlgren, VA. You will design, implement, and run automated and manual tests tied to requirements for complex software systems, collaborating with developers and government customers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, some coding, Linux experience, and strong traceability skills. U.S.

Qualifications

• 2+ years professional applied math/physics experience
• 1+ years software/testing experience or related education
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code
• Experience using Linux systems
• Strong requirements traceability and defect resolution
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied directly to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level)
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate closely with developers for rapid resolution
• Review peers' test documentation and provide constructive feedback
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities
• Interface directly and professionally with government customers daily
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation
