Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. seeks an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist for the SLBM team at NSWCDD, Dahlgren, VA. On-site, you will design test plans, develop automated tests, and collaborate with government customers to resolve defects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, some coding experience, and strong traceability and communication skills. U.S. citizenship and on-site work five days/week are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in applied math/physics for engineering
• 1+ years software/testing or education; may be concurrent
• Familiarity with reviewing C++ code
• Experience using Linux systems
• Strong requirements traceability
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong teamwork and multitasking

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level)
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities
• Interface directly with government customers daily
