Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. seeks an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the SLBM team at NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. This full-time, on-site role develops test plans, executes testing across levels, and collaborates with developers and government customers to resolve defects.

Requires 2+ years in applied math/physics and 1+ years in software testing, with C++ and Linux familiarity. U.S. citizenship and willingness to work on-site five days/week are required; expected to work closely with

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied math/physics experience
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or related education
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code; experience with Linux systems
• Strong requirements traceability and ability to document complex software issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to customers

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, descriptions, and cases tied to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level)
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and Jira
• Identify and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback
• Participate in Agile/Sprint meetings and CCB activities
• Interface with government customers daily; occasionally present testing documentation
