Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. seeks an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division team. The role is full-time and on-site, requiring US citizenship and an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

You will design test plans, execute automated/manual testing, and collaborate with developers and government customers to resolve issues. BS in Applied Math or Applied/Engineering Physics required; 2+ years in applied math/physics and 1+ years in software testing, with Linux

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience in support of engineering projects.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education; can be concurrent with applied math or applied physics experience.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code and Experience using Linux systems.
• Demonstrated ability to document and resolve complex software issues; link requirements to test cases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing across static, dynamic, integration, and system levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and Configuration Control Board activities.
• Interface directly with government customers daily; occasionally present technical testing documentation.
