Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to build internal AI capabilities and remove bottlenecks that limit scale across HDR’s Transportation Business Group.

The role starts internally and evolves toward client-facing AI delivery, leveraging proven internal solutions as repeatable services. You will develop AI solutions, improve data foundations, and identify bottlenecks in systems, processes, and tooling while collaborating with IT, data architects, and stakeholders to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years experience with data engineering tools/languages (SQL, Power Query, Pandas).
• 3+ years experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
• 3+ years experience with data science languages (Python, R).
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook; excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions addressing internal transportation business needs (e.g., document intelligence, predictive analytics, copilots, workflow automation).
• Build reusable AI components, data pipelines, and workflows scalable for future client delivery.
• Manage full model lifecycle including development, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and inference.
