Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks an Applied Data Scientist – AI Enablement to build internal AI capabilities across the Transportation Business Group. You will design, deploy AI solutions, improve data foundations, and scale internal capabilities before transitioning to client-facing advisory work.

This role emphasizes collaboration with IT and stakeholders, developing reusable AI components, and delivering repeatable services as capabilities mature. HDR emphasizes employee ownership and a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with generative AI and modern AI services.
• Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining data and AI solutions in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience managing end-to-end data science projects and model lifecycles.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions addressing internal transportation business needs.
• Build reusable AI components, data pipelines, and workflows scalable for future client delivery.
• Manage full model lifecycle including development, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining, and inference.
